About Lisen Lisen

Norwegian designer, Lisen Ydse Christiansen, launched into the fashion scene in August 2008 when her debut collection of women's clothing and jewelry was shown in a solo exhibition in Bing Gaarden Gallery in the old, fortified town of Fredrikstad, Lisen's hometown. Self-thought in both fashion and jewelry design, Lisen has a background in fine arts after having studied at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC. She actively merges her passion for fashion with her knowledge of fine arts, and this fusion is very much present in her work, making her designs wearable pieces of art.

"I strive to create styles for my customers that make them feel part of a modern fairy tale. Using fabrics such as viscose rayon, fine silk and tulle, I would say the key words to best describe my designs are feminine, sexy, fragile, and yet dramatic. I emphasize this using a subtle palette of pale pinks, cream, white and black.»"

Lisen is also a creative freelancer working with photography, illustrational fashion drawings as well as styling and doing custom designs for individual customers (more under Projects).

"I've always been a restless soul – always wanting to try new things and push boundaries. I have learned how to use that to my advantage and that is how LisenLisen came to life."
